ECSEC Ltd is proud to have partnered with Chotto Matte to deliver their newest UK restaurant, situated on the 10th floor of the prestigious No.1 St Michael’s development in Manchester. This exceptional space combines panoramic city views with a bold, contemporary interior — creating an immersive dining experience that celebrates the brand’s renowned fusion of Japanese and Peruvian (Nikkei) cuisine.
The Vision
Chotto Matte’s vision for their Manchester location was to bring the brand’s signature vibrancy to a dramatic, elevated setting. The brief called for a design that balances urban energy, refined craftsmanship, and cultural artistry, featuring a mix of raw textures, vibrant colours, and modern elegance. A key highlight of the project is the expansive external terrace, designed to offer guests an unforgettable al fresco dining experience high above the city skyline.
Our Role
As principal fit-out contractor, ECSEC Ltd managed the full scope of works — from early-stage planning and design coordination through to final delivery — ensuring every detail met the highest standards of quality and precision.
Key elements of the project included:
Comprehensive Interior Fit-Out: Transforming a shell space into a fully operational restaurant, complete with open kitchen, bar, and dining zones.
Bespoke Finishes: Installation of custom joinery, decorative wall treatments, and feature ceilings in line with Chotto Matte’s international design language.
